Recognized for Excellence

The Actuary wins creative award in international competition

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is pleased to announce The Actuary received a top Hermes Creative Award this year.

Hermes Creative Awards are given in an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual and audio materials. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, graphic design shops, Web and digital creators, and freelancers.

The Actuary received a 2016 Platinum Hermes Creative Award in the Publication Overall category.

This recognition comes after the SOA teamed up with GLC, a marketing communications agency, to redesign its flagship publication, The Actuary. The collaboration has since expanded to include development of this responsive website, which showcases the magazine content, plus Web exclusives and digital media.

Members of the SOA publications team include Jacque Kirkwood, magazine staff editor; Julia Anderson Bauer, publications manager; Erin Pierce, senior graphic designer; and Cheré LaRose, director, member and candidate communications. Members of the GLC team include Rick Cruz, senior art director; Kathleen Hagan, managing editor; Jason Grey, director of digital operations; Brittany Magee, editorial associate; Linda Klepitch, project and ad trafficking coordinator; Rene Ryan, senior director, client strategy; and Joe Stella, vice president, business development.

The SOA and GLC are honored by the recognition and delighted to share this award!
