The Actuary Wins Design Award

2018 Folio Awards recognize The Actuary for design excellence

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is pleased to announce that the Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards recognized The Actuary magazine for design excellence in its 2018 annual awards competition.

These industry awards highlight editorial and design achievement across several business sectors, with more than 2,500 entries competing in the different categories this year. The SOA received the Ozzie Award for Overall Design Excellence in the Association/Non-profit > Professional/Membership category for The Actuary.

This year’s win isn’t the first time The Actuary has been recognized for publication excellence by the Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards. The Actuary received the Ozzie Award for Redesign in the Association/Non-profit Magazine category in 2016. It also received an Ozzie honorable mention in Overall Design that same year.

The Actuary April/May 2016 article “Understanding Social Security’s Long-Term Fiscal Outlook” received an Eddie honorable mention in the Association/Non-Profit Single Article category. Authored by Stephen C. Goss, ASA, MAAA, chief actuary of the U.S. Social Security Administration, the article focuses on financial challenges of the Social Security program.

The SOA and GLC, a marketing and communications agency that provides creative services for the magazine, are honored by the recognition and thrilled to share this award!
